SIDS Prevention: Remembering Brody Andrew King

This video was put together to honor and remember the sweetest little man in the D.C. area- Brody Andrew King. He brought so much love and meaning into my best friend and sister's life (as well as to his amazing Daddy and all who were fortunate enough to meet him). I wanted to raise Julesy and Brody to be the best of buds, like brothers. Crushingly, I never had the chance to even hold him, kiss him, see my dearest friend in the happiest moments of her life- motherhood. Their beloved Brody died of SIDS Friday, August 7th, 2009 around 8:00 a.m. while he was innocently napping in his crib.

Please enjoy and share this amazing video, and know that this of course could only hope to capture one tiny snippet of who Brody is, was, and will always be. May we each be so blessed and reminded to enjoy life with our child(ren).

I wanted to share these links with everyone as well. They include information on SIDS, risks associated with SIDS, and possible preventative measures that you may keep in mind and share with your children's caregivers. Our mission is to increase knowledge, awareness, and possibly save lives in our own loss.

SIDS is a very real occurrence. Like with anything else, sometimes tragedy must strike in order to awaken parts of us. I never really began studying SIDS until I was personally affected by it a week and a half ago.

My dear friends, Brody's ever loving and always doting parents, Mike and Sunny, have also decided to put all monetary contributions towards SIDS research at the UVA Research Hospital. Since Mike went to school there and their close friend is a surgeon at UVA Research Hospital, the funding for research there is extra special to them. Schwab will be managing the funds. Please, please give.
